Because while we’re entitled to 20 days of annual leave per year, if you’re strategic with them, and willing to take off an extra two days, you can turn 22 days into a whopping 57.

Below, we’re letting you in on the secret, and sharing the exact dates you should take off, effectively allowing you to more than double your annual leave in 2023.

December 2022/January 2023Â
Book three days of annual leave for a 10-day holiday.Â
Make the most of the Christmas and New Year break by booking three days of annual leave in the week that follows the festive season. Because Christmas and New Year’s Day falls on a weekend in 2022, we’re given three public holidays – for Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day – during the week instead.

Book cleverly around the Australia Day public holiday, which, this year, falls on a Thursday, by taking annual leave either side.

April 2023
Book four days off around Easter for a 10-day holiday. Or book 11 days off for a 19-day holiday.Â
