Immerse yourself in the Chef Village at First Fleet Park, where renowned restaurants offer French fusion delicacies. Embark on a wine journey with the Wine Passport, and relax at the Le Mulled Wine Cinema, sipping on warm mulled wine while enjoying French films.
French Affair at Loulou
Celebrate Bastille Day in style at Loulou, the charming French bistro in Milsons Point. On Friday, July 14, revel in an evening of the flavours of southern Provence.
Start with house-made foie gras torchon, winter salade with white endive and bleu de Basque, classic steak tartare, and scallop mousseline. For mains, savour Loulou’s rainbow trout a la Provençale and slow-cooked boeuf en daube with petite vegetables. End the night on a sweet note with warm madeleines, mousse au Chocolat, and crepes’ Suzette.
Dinner and a Show at Chouchou
Bondi’s Chouchou is transporting diners to Paris for a night on Friday, July 14, with a curated three-course meal, followed by a risqué cabaret inspired by Moulin Rouge and burlesque show from charismatic Sydney dance troupe Les Femmes Diamont.
Bastille Day at Monopole
Brent Savage and Nick Hildebrandt’s Monopole is hosting a French affair to remember. From July 14 to 15, guests can book a table for the five-course set menu of French-inspired dishes, including Tiger Prawn Vol au Vent, Confit Duck Leg with Frisée, and more. Plus, for the whole month of July, in celebration of Bastille Day, guests at Monopole will be transported to the Côtes du Jura to sample the super rare wines of cult Jura producer Jean-François Ganevat.
Steak Frites at Bouillon l’Entrecôte
Indulging in French cuisine comes naturally at Bouillon l’Entrecôte, so why not make the most of it? For Bastille Day, the restaurant is offering steak frites with secret sauce, green vinaigrette salad, and all-you-can-eat french fries for $52. You can also try a real French Kir Royale during happy hour, Mondays to Saturdays from 4-6 pm weekly.
European Gelato at Zini
Pick up a brie and pear gelato or lavender gelato from Zini Contemporary Gelato in Circular Quay this Bastille Day. It comes with Brioche and if you want, you can add an extra gelato flavour.
Humble Bakery Treats
Humble Bakery is slinging country-style pork terrine served on a Humble baguette with butter, mustard and cornichons for $16. You can also get Humble Palmiers, a French sugar puff-pastry biscuit and creme caramel with rum and raisin.
Chocolate Done French Style at Adora
The cooler weather is the perfect setting for a hot chocolate. At Adora Homemade Chocolates, you can get a decadent French Vanilla Hot Chocolate to go. If you’re looking for a treat, look no further than the creme brulee truffle. You can get a single one or a box of four for $11.50.
