You’ve surely heard the saying “everything old is new again”, and it seems that turn of phrase particularly applies to films and television series as the reboot renaissance continues.
From re-imaginings of family favourites such as Netflix’s Cobra Kai and the painfully cheesy Fuller House to classic American sitcoms such as Roseanne (which was promptly rebranded The Connors after Roseanne Barr was fired for Tweeting a racial slur) and Will and Grace, studios seem focused on cashing in on the element of nostalgia — and sometimes even the chance to do things better the second time around.
Ahead, we round up the reboots that we cannot wait to watch.
Gossip Girl
The first half of season one of the Gossip Girl reboot is already available to watch on BINGE, but we are counting down the days until the final six episodes premiere in November 2021.
This reimagining takes us back to Constance Billard High School on Manhattan’s Upper East Side but this time features a diverse cast and the first episode reveal that the teachers are the ones pulling the strings as GG.
If you just can’t go past the OG then never fear, because BINGE is streaming all of those episodes, too.

Frasier
The original series of Frasier, which starred Kelsey Grammar, Jane Leeves, David Hyde Pierce, Peri Gilpin, and John Mahoney, ran for 11 seasons between 1993 and 2004, winning the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series five years in a row.
The show revolves around Dr Frasier Crane — a highbrow, and slightly neurotic psychiatrist who hosts an advice radio show in Seattle.
According to Grammar, the revival should hopefully be on our screens in early 2022 when it debuts on Paramount Plus.
Grammer confirmed the news of a reboot earlier in 2021 in a statement saying, “Having spent over 20 years of my creative life on the Paramount lot, both producing shows and performing in several, I’d like to congratulate Paramount+ on its entry into the streaming world.
“I gleefully anticipate sharing the next chapter in the continuing journey of Dr Frasier Crane.”

The Wonder Years
Not only is the beloved series The Wonder Years getting the reboot treatment, but original star Fred Savage is returning as the executive producer.
The original series ran from 1988-1992 and was nominated for 28 Emmy Awards over the course of its time on air, winning four including for outstanding comedy series in 1988. The show revolved around Kevin Arnold — the youngest member of the Arnold family whose adult voiceover provided a retrospective of life as events such as the Vietnam War, the Civil Rights movement and the Space Race took place around him.
This time around, The Wonder Years will focus on a Black family in the late 1960s living in Montgomery, Alabama giving it a fresh twist and waving the flag for diversity.

How I Met Your Father
Fan favourite (at least until the final episode) How I Met Your Mother gets the reboot spin with Hilary Duff taking on the “Ted” role, this time playing Sophie — who is recounting to her kids the tale of how she met their Dad who for the love of God better still be alive by the end.
Chris Lowell, Francia Raisa, Tom Ainsley, Tien Tran and Suraj Sharma also star meaning that, right away, the reboot is doing a far better job in the diversity stakes, which is in contrast to the original that was extremely white and hetero.
The creators of the original series — Carter Bays and Craig Thomas — are returning as executive producers for the series with the official synopsis reading: “In the near future, Sophie is telling her son the story of how she met his father: a story that catapults us back to the year 2021, where Sophie and her close-knit group of friends are in the midst of figuring out who they are, what they want out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options.”

And Just Like That…
We may have to get used to Sex and the City without Samantha but from what we know so far, And Just Like That…will more than make up for her absence with fresh new faces and some returning favourites such as Aiden (John Corbett), Stanford (Willie Garson) and Anthony (Mario Cantone).
There is also loads of speculation that Carrie and Big’s ill-fated marriage has crumbled thanks to some leaked script pages and paparazzi images of Sarah Jessica Parker’s character Carrie meeting up with Big’s ex-wife Natasha (Bridget Moynahan).
We also can’t wait to see Miranda and Charlotte’s kids — Brady, Lily and Rose — all grown up.
