eBay and HOYTS have shaken hands over a deal that will give eBay shoppers access to discounted cinema tickets every Tuesday. The new offer means that right now, eBay is giving you the chance to catch everything on the big screen for less.
Tickets are as cheap as $11 for you and up to five of your friends at any HOYTS cinema across the country when purchased through your eBay account. That’s pretty much half off for a big screen experience, as standard tix are around $21.
Even better, HOYTS LUX tickets are now just $25 for eBay Plus members on Tuesdays, down from the standard $40.
If you log in to eBay right now, you’ll immediately be given access to the bargain standard tickets. Sign up to eBay Plus and you’ll also get the discounted HOYTS LUX tickets.
How It Works
eBay accounts are free to join and enable you to buy and sell items on Australia’s number one shopping site. This alone will get you those discounted standard tickets, but if you want the LUX ones too, you’ll have to get eBay Plus.
eBay Plus is a membership programme that gives you access to tonnes of benefits like exclusive deals, discounted prices, and free express delivery on millions of eBay Plus items. It also gets you 5% off your Coles shop and free returns on eBay Plus purchases. It costs just $49 per year to join which works out to about $4 per month and will get you free express delivery to metro areas on your purchases.
You can access the deal through your eBay account or alternatively click here to be taken right to the action.
Jump online whenever you fancy and grab yourself up to 6 tickets for the next Tuesday showing of any film currently playing for nearly half price. Be aware that tickets are non refundable and it won’t cover the cost of 3D glasses. Full terms and conditions can be read here.
If you spend 49 bucks on eBay Plus membership and use that cinema ticket discount 4 times in the year on HOYTS LUX screenings – which, lets be honest, is very easily done – you’re literally saving money.
What to See
The question is what not to see? Like every other industry, cinemas have taken a bit of a hit recently but the releases are coming back strong and 2021 looks set to be an awesome year for the silver screen.
The animated caveman adventure comedy The Croods: A New Age was recently nominated for a Golden Globe and is a great one for the kids. In this vein, Dragon Rider is also a popular choice for all those who couldn’t get enough of the (unrelated) How to Train Your Dragon series.
We’ve also got Eric Bana in Aussie-noir thriller The Dry which is a great spin on the Scandi trend we’ve been obsessed with for years and speaking of Aussie tales, Naomi Watts is currently starring in the uplifting true story Penguin Bloom.
Right now there’s also a behind the scenes look at one of the world’s youngest and most famous musicians, Billie Eilish, in her new doc The World’s a Little Blurry. The Little Things – another Golden Globes nom – is also playing with an all star cast including Denzel Washington, Jared Leto, and Rami Malek.
Later in the year we’ll have Jude Law in The Nest, Mads Mikkelsen in Another Round, and Ralph Fiennes in The King’s Man, the origin story of Kingsman, to name a but a few.
Keep an eye out for Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Coleman in The Father as well as Ghostbusters, Halloween, Space Jam, Peter Rabbit, and Top Gun sequels.
Oh, and there’s a Cruella De Vil origin flick with Emma Stone and two biopics of Black female musical icons, Billie Holiday and Aretha Franklin. Phew, it’s going to be a busy year!
Finally, let’s not forget the upcoming Bond sequel, No Time to Die, which is set for a September release and is confirmed to be Daniel Craig’s final outing as the British spy. We’re super pumped for this one at The Latch.
So, now is definitely the time to line yourself up for a spectacular year of cinema brought to you by eBay and HOYTS!
