The 2022 Emmy Awards are finally here, and it’s set to be one fierce competition as all our favourite shows go up against one another.
This year, Saturday Night Live alum Kenan Thompson will be hosting the night, and for the first time since 2019, the ceremony will be held at the Microsoft Theatre, indoors and at full capacity.
Leading the nominations this year is HBO’s Succession, which managed to rack up a whopping 25 nods. Following Succession, Apple TV’s beloved Ted Lasso and HBO’s The White Lotus followed, with 20 nominations each. HBO was the platform leading the charge, with a whopping 108 nominations across its shows, beating out Netflix’s 105 nods.
Also in the esteemed double-digit nods category are Hacks (17), Only Murders in the Building (17), Euphoria (16), Barry (14), Dopesick (14), Severance (14), Squid Game (14), Ozark (13), Stranger Things (13), The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (12) and Pam & Tommy (10).
