Restaurant Gordon Ramsay is coming to Sydney’s Aria as part of its first residency outside London this Monday, May 8, Tuesday, May 9 and Wednesday, May 10. Called ‘Restaurant Gordon Ramsay comes to Aria’, the pop-up is a result of the British chef and Matt Moran’s friendship, which has lasted over 25 years.
“The residency will showcase the proud, professional relationship that both Moran and Ramsay share with Matt Abe, which started a young, 17-year-old Australian chef in his first job in the kitchen at Aria and who, 21 years later, is now chef patron at London’s three Michelin-starred Restaurant Gordon Ramsay,” reads a release.
The three-night dining experience in the acclaimed Sydney Opera House restaurant was curated by both chefs. Its seven-course menu promises the best of Australian seasonal produce with the cookery of Abe alongside the Aria team. Ingredients from some of the country’s leading producers will replace British produce in signature Restaurant Gordon Ramsay dishes, including shellfish raviolo and a pecan praline dessert.

“Collaborating with my dear friend Matt Moran, and talented chef patron, Matt Abe at Aria, with its magnificent views across Sydney Harbour and creating a menu that utilises Australia’s incredible local produce whilst delivering the finesse of our 3-star Michelin menu, is a dream come true,” says Gordon Ramsay.
Aria’s award-winning wine program will be available on the three nights, as well as optional premium wine pairing. Tickets for Restaurant Gordon Ramsay comes to Aria are $495 per person, inclusive of seven courses and with a $295 add-on for the wine pairing. Tickets go on sale Thursday, April 13 at 10am.
“Gordon is one of my closest mates, and Abe spent five years cooking with me in the Aria kitchen before moving to London where he has cemented his place as one of the world’s finest chefs,” says Moran. “These three nights will be a real highlight in the 23 years of Aria; I can’t wait.”
Abe says he’s excited to be heading back to the restaurant where his love for fine dining began. “It means so much to be coming as the first and only 3-star Australian chef, to showcase what I have learnt over the years of working for Gordon,” he says. “It really is an honour to be stepping back into the kitchen at Aria, a place where I first met Gordon, and to show my earliest mentor and friend, Matt Moran, the chef I am today.”
You can get your ticket online at Aria Sydney from Thursday, April 13 at 10am.
