Good news for fans of the Emmy award-winning comedy Hacks! The second season is just two weeks away.
The comedy series was a smash hit when it premiered in 2021, and went on to score a whopping 13 nominations at the Emmy Awards.
It won awards for both Outstanding Writing and Directing in the comedy categories, and the show’s star, Jean Smart, won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. Smart also won a SAG Award and a Critics Choice Award for her performance.
Here’s everything you need to know about what to expect from Hacks season two when it returns next month.
Who Is in Hacks season two?
Hacks wouldn’t be Hacks without the show’s star, Jean Smart, who will be reprising her role as legendary Las Vegas comedian Deborah Vance. Also returning is Hannah Einbinder, who plays her 20-something protégé Ava.
Also returning are Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Jane Adams, Christopher McDonald, Kaitlin Olson, Paul W. Downs, Poppy Liu, Rose Abdoo, Mark Indelicato, Meg Salter, Angela E. Gibbs, Luenell, Johnny Sibilly, Joe Mande, Ally Maki and Lorenza Izzo.
Joining the already star-studded cast in recurring guest roles this season are Laurie Metcalf, Martha Kelly, Ming-Na Wen and Susie Essman, and there will be guest appearances by Margaret Cho and Devon Sawa.
What Is Season Two of Hacks Going to Be About?
For the unfamiliar, Hacks is centred around the dark mentorship between legendary stand-up comedian Deborah Vance (Jean Smart), and a young, entitled writer named Ava (Hannah Einbinder).
The new season is set to pick up directly after the events of the season one finale, and will centre around Deborah and Ava as they travel cross-country, workshopping Deborah’s new stand-up act.
Of course, there’s still that pesky email Ava sent at the end of season one that’s hanging over her head, so we can expect that to be addressed at some point, as well.

When Will Hacks Season Two Be Available?
The first two episodes of Hacks season two will premiere on Friday, May 13. After that, two episodes will drop each Friday.
