Just like Superman and kryptonite, a global pandemic cannot stop Oz Comic-Con 2021 from going ahead.
After a year of virtual conventions, the team behind one of the most famous conventions in the world is launching their first live event of 2021.
This year, OCC will be called OCC POP UP and will be a community-based event showcasing the best of the best in the local pop-culture scene.
Hitting Sydney Showground on March 6 and 7, the OCC will welcome fans of all ages, interests and pop obsessions, with a truly immersive experience.
Even though it may feel a little different than previous years, the pop up will encompass everything you know and love from previous years.
Attendees can expect appearances from local creators, comic artists, gaming and free-play opportunities, industry talks and panels and exclusive merchandise.
Comic-Con wouldn’t be Comic-Con without some epic guests, and confirmed to be in attendance is Queenie Chan from The Dreaming and Fabled Kingdom, Christopher Sequeria (Sherlock Holmes: The Australian Case Book), Louie Joyce (Haphaven) and JusZ Cosplay.
There are also some amazing workshops and activities including:
— Creators Live — an area dedicated to promoting Aussie digital content creators including YouTubers, streamers, podcasters, bloggers and influencers.
— Cosplay Active — a cosplayer competition for mainstream competitors will open to both solo and group performances and is an opportunity to showcase crafting talents and bring along the play in cosplay.
As we are still living in a COVID world, tickets will be sold in sessions with only a limited amount of full-day tickets available for each day and session and will be in full compliance with guidelines and regulations.
