14 contestants, 14 days, a million dollars in cash split among their backpacks. Welcome to The Summit Australia, Channel 9’s latest reality competition series. The show challenges its contestants to hike to the top of one of New Zealand’s highest peaks. It’s a brand new show, and that means it’s time meet The Summit 2023 cast.
The Summit 2023 Cast: Meet Catherine, AKA Kitty
Catherine, aka Kitty is an outback nurse who’s set to take on the challenge of The Summit Australia 2023.
Now, she may be the oldest competitor, but as a registered nurse in a remote town in the Northern Territory, Kitty is no stranger to hard work and pushing herself outside of her comfort zone.
“I work in a little town about eight hours from Darwin and it’s fabulous,” Kitty said in a press statement. “I went there for six weeks and ended up staying and working with young mums and their newborn babies.”
Her dedication to her work and the community she serves is admirable, and she’s excited to use her participation in The Summit Australia to inspire young women.

Kitty’s Journey on The Summit 2023
Kitty may not be nervous about the trek ahead, but daughters might be!
“One of them is not sure she’s ready to see me on national TV, and the other one just keeps sending me messages saying ‘OMFG’,” she said. But Kitty is ready to show her daughters — and the world — what she’s capable of. She’s excited for the opportunity to showcase her skills and inspire others along the way.
Outside of her nursing work, Kitty is also an artist. She’s hoping to use any prize money that comes her way to set up her own studio.
“I’m ready to give it my all and show that age is just a number,” Kitty said confidently. We can’t wait to see her in action on the mountain.
