2022 is the year of Network Ten premiering new shows and new formats, and so far, we’re loving it. We’ve roamed the streets of Victoria with Hunted Australia, cruised along the Mediterranean with The Real Love Boat, and now, we’re ready to play detective with The Traitors.
Hosted by Rodger Corser, The Traitors is a new competition reality series that takes place in an old hotel, where our Faithful contestants will compete in challenges to win bars of silver.
The twist, because there’s always a twist, is that there are Traitors masquerading as Faithfuls amongst them, trying to pick them off, one by one. If a Traitor makes it to the end, they’ll win the entire prize pool of silver — worth up to $250,000 — for themselves. If a Faithful makes it to the end, they’ll be presented with a choice: either split the prize with their other Faithful, or keep it all for themselves.
One of the Traitors hoping to take out all the Faithfuls before they banish her from the game this season is Marielle, a 24-year-old law and international politics student from SA.

Before the game began and she was selected as one of the season’s four Traitors, Marielle said in a press statement that she would be more comfortable as a Faithful because it aligned with her “desire to follow the rules and do the right thing”.
Still, she knew that The Traitors was all about “playing a game” was going into it ready to play her hardest.
“There’s nothing off the cards for me, I’ll do whatever it takes when I get in the game,” she said.
When she’s not playing The Traitors, Marielle keeps very busy. Not only is she studying a double degree in law and international politics, she works as a bartender, is a passionate advocate for human rights, and spends her spare time volunteering and completing triathlons.
Now, she’s ready to see how far she can push herself in the game.
“I’ve always been motivated to see how much I can do with my life and I don’t believe there’s anything I can’t do,” she said. “If I leave this game and I’ve given it everything I have and I have truly performed to my highest level, I’ll be satisfied.”
Will Marielle get the Faithfuls before they banish her from the game? Only time will tell. Until then…
