The Australian Government recently announced it would halve the price of nearly 800,000 flights across the country as part of a new $1.2 billion package designed to encourage us all to hit the road in 2021. And ever since the announcement some two weeks ago, sale fares have been steadily released from Australia’s most trusted airlines.
Virgin Australia last week launched a half-price flash sale, which lasted only a few hours, but the carrier is back today with even more discounted tickets around Australia, starting from just $67.
Flying all around the country to a whopping 52 destinations, the sale not only refers to economy class tickets but business class fares also. At the discounted rates, business tickets start at $279, which is practically unheard of, considering the comforts and luxury that comes with flying business.
In even better news, the sale surrounds fares stretching almost the entirety of 2021. Travel dates span from April 21 to December 15, and all one-way tickets include the cost of baggage plus free booking flexibility, which, in the ongoing pandemic, is an important box travellers must tick.
“Virgin Australia is committed to offering Australians irresistible airfares, and this sale is an example of how we are trying to help support the tourism economy, with 52 routes across the country on sale for the next week and fares from just $67,” a Virgin Australia spokesperson told News.com.au.
“Along with a new and fresh business class menu which launches Thursday, guests can enjoy a seat at the pointy end with business class fares from a record low of just $279 between major destinations.”

The sale ends on March 29 at midnight, unless sold out prior. As always, it’s best to get in quick to avoid disappointment.
Should you happen to miss out, you can take comfort in the fact this sale from Virgin is not actually part of the Government’s 800,000 ticket scheme. Meaning, there’s plenty more where that came from.
