It’s official. Australia’s Got Talent is returning to our screens with a brand new panel of judges in 2022.
The last season aired in 2019 before COVID ravaged the planet and stopped the world in its tracks.
However, after a brief hiatus, the talent show is coming soon to Channel 7, with a date to be announced shortly.
The Australian version of the franchise has launched the careers of some of our favourite stars, including Bonnie Anderson, Jack Vidgen and the Justice Crew.
The revamped judging panel includes local and international personalities, such as Aussie actors Shane Jacobson and Kate Ritchie.
Joining them will be British stars David Walliams and Alesha Dixon.
“All the Australians I’ve met have been very outgoing, so I don’t expect them to be as shy as British people are sometimes,” said Walliams.
“People have had much more time than usual to work on their acts, so I’m expecting the standard to be really high. If it’s anything like BGT, there will be great excitement when people first step out on the stage, as many people haven’t done that for a very long time.”
Former Australian Idol contestant Ricki-Lee Coulter will be returning as host of the show.
Channel 7 recently dropped a short teaser, which was filled with a ton of pyrotechnics, gymnastics, magic tricks and even fire twirling.
The contestant who makes it to the very end will be rewarded with $100,000 and will join the Australia’s Got Talent Hall of Fame.
In 2019, pole dancer Kirsty Sellars won the competition.
She now runs the Pole Evolution Dance Company.
