After debuting in Australia at Sydney’s Darling Harbour in February 2022, hotel brand Aiden will open its second location in Perth’s West in mid-2026. The property will be part of precinct Sydney Charles Quarter (SCQ) and built by the same developer.
It’ll feature 80 hotel rooms and 40 apartments, all with balconies, a rooftop bar and restaurant, conference and event spaces, an event lawn, and a pool and lounge area.
While the interiors have yet to be established, the aim is to draw inspiration from the historical roots of the destination. Aiden, part of BWH Hotels, already has 14 properties in the US, Germany, Austria, South Korea, France and Italy and 30 in Scandinavia.
Aiden’s Perth site has a rich automotive history, located where City Motors once stood, and that’ll be reflected in the new hotel with artwork and recycled building components strategically integrated throughout the lobby, rooms, and communal areas. Sculptures, murals, and paintings, all designed to hero the locale’s rich history.
“A perfect stay with us would see guests waking at Aiden before heading to the SCQ fitness hub for a Pilates class, some laps on the pool, or jumping on a hotel bike for a neighbourhood spin,” says Michelle Prater, Director of APPL Group, the group behind SCQ and Aiden.
“Then, enjoy breakfast at Café SCQ or grab a coffee and cinnamon scroll from our Meeting Place and sit poolside enjoying the sunshine. Spend the morning meandering through the precinct following the Art and History Trail, enjoying the many artworks scattered throughout.”
For lunch, head to SCQ’s Pickle Shed or head into the supermarket to pick up some local produce and wine for a picnic or game of bocce on the event lawn, Prater says. Or, if you’re needing to work, settle into the SCQ Co-Work offices so you can concentrate.
“Finish the day with sunset drinks overlooking the city lights at our rooftop bar before indulging in dinner at the rooftop restaurant or strolling into Leederville or Northbridge for a huge range of eateries,” she says. “End the day at our Basement Bar at the Pickle Shed for a nightcap before heading back to your room to catch some well-deserved Zs.”
SCQ will comprise the area bounded by Charles Street, Newcastle Street, Golding Street, and Old Aberdeen Place, located on 2.2 hectares. Aiden will be one of 6 buildings in SCQ, with the others residential apartments, co-living micro-apartments, event spaces, office spaces, a fitness hub, a supermarket and food and drink venues, plus over 500 parking spaces.
