As the sunniest capital city in Australia, with 138.7 clear days annually, Perth is an easy choice for a domestic getaway. Not to mention, it offers visitors plenty to do and see, including strolling the gardens at Kings Park, day tripping to Rottnest Island and brewery hopping in Fremantle (or “Freo”, as the locals call it).
But like with any getaway, expenses can easily add up. Fortunately, Perth has more than a handful of luxury-feeling hotels under $250 a night. Most have balcony rooms, outdoor pools (so you can take advantage of those sunny days) and in-house restaurants even the locals dine at.

Start and end your days with ocean swims at Rendezvous Hotel Perth Scarborough, located along the esplanade. The hotel has 337 rooms and suites, a lagoon-style pool and two venues, The Lobby Bar and Straits Café. Guests can also use its tennis courts and a games room. Rooms start at $191 a night.
Crown Promenade Perth
Crown Promenade Perth is within the Crown Perth complex, which also houses seven restaurants, eight bars and a nightclub. Swim in the hotel’s outdoor pool, work out in its fitness centre or book a treatment at its spa. The hotel has 291 rooms, ranging from superior king, to suite.
Fraser Suites Perth
Fraser Suites Perth overlooks the Swan River in East Perth, with a CBD location steps from shops, restaurants and bars. Conveniently, the hotel is within Perth’s ‘Free-Transit Zone’, which means can hop on and off city buses for free. Should you have a car, though, the hotel offers secure parking. Rooms start at $230 a night.
Joondalup Resort
For a Perth resort stay, opt for Joondalup Resort, a 25-minute drive north of the CBD. The resort has an outdoor pool, fitness centre and spa. Lunch or have dinner at one of its two eateries, The Alcove and Café 28, before relaxing in your room. All are equipped with either a balcony or a courtyard. Rooms start at $209 a night.
Duxton Hotel Perth
Though room rates at Duxton Hotel Perth start at $270, just out of the under-$250 budget, it’s still worth a mention. The CBD hotel features a restaurant, bar and outdoor pool. Sample drops from Western Australia’s best wine regions at the hotel’s on-site restaurant Firewater Grille. The Swan River is a five-minute stroll away.
Crowne Plaza Perth
Crowne Plaza Perth in the city’s lower east offers rooms overlooking the Swan River and Langley Park. Guests can take advantage of the hotel’s outdoor pool and sun deck, fitness centre and complimentary bike hire. Or simply relax in your room – most have balconies. Rooms start at $222 a night.
Doubletree by Hilton Perth Northbridge
Opened in 2018, Doubletree by Hilton Perth Northbridge features a pool with views of the CBD skyline, a 24-hour fitness centre and a restaurant, James St Bar and Kitchen, open from breakfast ‘til dinner. The property is steps from Yagan Square, Western Australian Museum and RAC Entertainment Arena, and the airport is only 13kms away. Rooms start at $217.
Quay Perth
Quay Perth on the city’s waterfront esplanade overlooks Elizabeth Quay and the Swan River. The hotel has a sidewalk café, Community at Quay, a restaurant, HQ Bar and Kitchen, and a co-working space, Level Nine. Rooms range from Perth Essential Room, to a Elizabeth Quay Luxury Studio and Perth Loft. Rates start at $250 a night.
Wonil Hotel Perth – Handwritten Collection
With just 66 rooms, Wonil Hotel Perth has a boutique feel. Some rooms have balconies, others have river views. The word ‘wonil’ was used by First Nations Noongar and translates to ‘peppermint tree’, a traditional medicinal tree growing along the banks of the Swan River. The hotel has a restaurant centre, fitness centre and optional breakfast. Rooms start at $249.
The Adnate Art Series
The Adnate is an Art Series property, named after Melbourne street artist Matt Adnate. His artworks feature inside the hotel and along the side of the hotel building, Adnate’s largest artwork ever . The hotel has 250 rooms across 25 storeys, an outdoor pool and a restaurant. Rooms start at $220.
