The Fast and the Furious series may be the most ridiculous and greatest series of all time.
In what other franchise can you watch cars leap out of buildings, The Rock flex off his cast, and famous actors mumble the word “family” 500 times? Everything about it is brilliant.
And Fast and Furious 9 is shaping up to be an excellent sequel. Here’s what we know about this movie so far:
The whole gang is (almost) here
Vin Diesel is back as Dom Toretto, Ludacris is back as Tej Parker, and most of the crew has returned. However, two notable faces are missing from this movie. Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham haven’t returned to reprise their roles. This is probably because of The Rock and Vin Diesel’s 2017 feud. Also, Statham and Johnson had the Hobbs & Shaw spin-off last year.Â
It’s been a couple of years since the events of the last flick
In The Fate of the Furious, Dom met his son called Brian. During this film, Brian’s only a baby. And in the F9 trailer, he appears to be eight or nine-years-old. This indicates that the franchise is jumping forward in time or that Dom’s child is growing too fast.Â
John Cena is here, and he will be the best at everything
That’s right, the living legend John Cena will be playing the role of Jakob Toretto. But who is this mysterious fellow? Well, according to Tej Parker he’s a “master thief, assassin, high-performance driver.” He also happens to be Dom’s brother and the man that’s hunting him down. So I guess we know who the villain is.Â
Han Lue is alive!
Hey, do you remember when fan-favorite Han exploded at the end of Tokyo Drift? Well, I guess that doesn’t matter because he is miraculously alive again. Do we know how this man’s up and standing? Unfortunately, that remains to be seen.  Â
There is a Pontiac Fiero that’s strapped to a rocket engine
I mean, what more could you want from a movie?
It’s released on May 21
Yes, I know that May is still so far and that you can’t possibly wait that long. Fortunately, the trailer is down-right incredible, and we can just watch this ad on repeat.Â
