What originally began as a small side hustle eventually grew into Australia’s leading design market. Now, the popular Finders Keepers Market hosts two seasons of events in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane every year.

Usually held in huge warehouses with live music, food and workshops, the event garners a lard crowd of sustainable and design-savvy shoppers, but restrictions on social distancing in the COVID-19 pandemic meant the founders had to rethink the way they planned to operate their autumn/winter market of 2020.

Now, they’ve launched Finders Keepers art Home, a virtual event “set to be an unforgettable weekend to connect with artists, designers, makers and memorable experiences”.

Kicking off on Thursday, June 18 and running over the weekend until Sunday, June 21, the event will consist of immersive demos, studio tours, panel chats, live(ish) music, and virtual fashion showcase, all while the online store runs around the clock to help buyers find exciting new pieces for their wardrobes and home.

There will also be crafty workshops viewers can take part in at home, like learning to create pressed flower art, a DIY painted dog leash, natural dyeing, and DIY beeswax wraps. Even better, attendees can watch these events and tutorials at their own pace should they miss the live slots. ⠀

You can sign up for updates and RSVP on the Facebook page now, and begin to browse the unique range from hundreds of makers.

A bunch of new products have already begun flooding the online store, so get shopping and show your support for small businesses, of which the Finders Keepers event does better than many.

Each year, the markets inject over $1 million by supporting independent creative business.
