Good news for South Australians: the state is bringing back its Great State Voucher scheme, releasing more than 75,000 travel vouchers worth up to $200 in two new rounds this spring.
Launching in September, round five will feature $100 and $200 vouchers, available to use at participating hosted tours and experiences across the state. The $100 vouchers can be used for single-day experiences like winery tours, cooking classes and wildlife encounters, while the $200 vouchers can be used for multi-day hosted experiences.
Round six will kick off in October and will see the release of $100 vouchers, which can be used at participating hotels in the city and North Adelaide, as well as $50 vouchers, which can be used at suburban and regional accommodation.
Both rounds are available exclusively to South Australians.
The timing of the voucher rounds was strategic, with South Australian tourism commission chief executive Rodney Harrex calling the next two months a “critical time for industry”.
“Out of lockdown and into spring, we want to get more South Australians out and about, booking tours, experiences and accommodation, and going to events like our newly announced Bloom,” Mr Harrex said.
The first of the Great State Voucher scheme launched in October last year, with 41% of the vouchers redeemed. The redemption rate increased in rounds two and three by 50% and 64%, respectively.
“With each round of our Great State Voucher scheme, we’ve seen tens of thousands of booking generated for operators across SA, and a spending flow-on in cafés, restaurants, bar and pubs, with more than $64 million pumped into the state’s economy to date,” said the state’s premier Steven Marshall.
Keep your eyes peeled for the vouchers’ release this September and October.
