It’s back, folks! After first debuting way back in 2003, Australian Idol has finally returned for its ninth season. The moment that Guy Sebastian defeated Shannon Noll is now a nostalgia-fuelled memory, a moment the show is hungry to replicate.
In Australian Idol 2024, the formula for this season remains the same as the classics that came before it. A panel of expert judges reviews a plethora of singers from every corner of Australia. The selected singers then compete in a gauntlet of performances, as there can only be one winner — one Australian Idol.
For its 20th anniversary, Australian Idol is bringing back one of its most beloved judges, Marcia Hines. Marcia judged Australian Idol from 2003 until 2009. Beyond Idol, she’s best known for her decades-spanning music career and winning numerous ARIA Awards.
On Instagram, Marcia has gushed about her return to Australian Idol, and teased we’re in for an incredible season.
“It’s so good to be back,” Marcia said in an Instagram post. “I look forward to doing it.”
“We’ve got some amazing talent, and we really want you guys to tune in, ‘cause it’s about you too.”
However, just like in 2023, Australian Idol isn’t on its original home of Network Ten. So, if you want to learn how to watch Australian Idol in 2024, then you’ve come to the right place.
