Release the Fugitives! Last year, Hunted Australia quickly became one of the most popular new shows of the year, and now, it’s back for 2023. Of course, with a second season comes more informed Fugitives, who have learned from the mistakes of those who came before. Chatting to The Latch, Chief David Craig said that this season is “a showdown” between the Hunters and the Fugitives. With $100,000 on the line, it’s a high stakes game of cat and mouse, but not everyone will make it to the end. Let’s meet two of the people joining the Hunted Australia cast this year.
Hunted Australia Cast 2023: Meet Elerrina and Sonja
Queensland pals Sonja, 41, and Elerrina, 38 may have only met last year, but they became instant friends. Perhaps it’s something about meeting at a watermelon eating contest that bonds people together! Regardless, the two have been friends ever since, and now, they’re ready for the adventure of a lifetime, as they get ready to take on Hunted 2023.
While the friends may get along like a house on fire (and share a love of watermelon!), they’re actually very different people. While Sonja is a pocket rocket who prides herself on being resilient, strategic, fit and flirty, Elerrina is not an athlete. Rather, she’s the one you call for good vibes and good times, and will make any situation fun.
Look, they know they’re not coming into Hunted as the strongest pair, or even the most strategic people, but they’re ready to prove themselves. They consider themselves the underdogs of Hunted 2023, and who doesn’t love an underdog story?

Sonja and Elerrina’s Hunted Australia Game Plan
When they’re not on the run, Sonja works as a medical sales rep. She’s ready to be the decision maker and to bring the strategy to the pair’s game. Meanwhile, Elerrina works in radio, and she’s happy to follow Sonja’s lead. By nature, she’s more of a ‘go with the flow’ type, anyway.
What they are sure of is that they’re going to have a great time along the way, no matter how far they get. They’re planning on using disguises — including costumes and hair colour changes — to throw the Hunters off.
Both Sonja and Elerrina are ready to push themselves out of their comfort zones. Sonja has secretly always dreamed of becoming an international spy, and she’s ready to put her skills to the test. On the other hand, Elerrina has always had her friends and family to rely on. She’s looking forward to embracing independence and learning to rely on herself.
Hunted Australia airs at 7.30pm, Sunday — Tuesday each week, only on 10 and 10 Play on Demand. Miss an episode? Catch up on 10 Play.
