The hunt is on. That’s right, folks, Hunted Australia is back on our screens, and this year, the Fugitives are more prepared for the Hunters. Chatting to The Latch, Chief David Craig said that we should expect a “showdown” between the Hunters and Fugitives, and we can’t wait to see how it all plays out. With the chance to win a slice of $100,000, the stakes are high, but of course, not everyone will make it to the end. Will Tanase and Byron? Let’s see…
Hunted Australia Cast 2023: Meet Tanase and Byron
Self-proclaimed “city slickers”, Tanase, 36, and Byron, 37, are a sibling duo ready to take on the Hunters. Originally from South Australia, the pair moved to Melbourne together 15 years ago, and share a very close bond.
Tanase is a single mum to eight-year-old Charlie, and Byron is happy to be a father figure to his nephew.
When they’re not dodging the Hunters, Tanase works as a project officer for the Victorian Government. Byron also works for the Victorian Government as a policy officer, and also founded Every Minority, a charity platform that champions the stories and offers support to the LGBTQI+ community, as well as people of colour.
In terms of their personalities, the siblings are quite different. Tanase can be impulsive and outspoken, while Byron is more strategic and even-keeled, perhaps even calculated. Will they be able to balance each other out on the run?

Byron and Tanase’s Hunted Australia Plan
Tanase and Byron are planning to rely on the wide-ranging support of Victoria’s West African communities, as well as Byron’s queer allies.
Now, have they ever gone camping before? No. But there’s a first time for everything, and they’re planning to head out to the bush. City-slickers no more, they’re ready to get out of their comfort zone and put their resilience to the test.
While the prize money would be wonderful, Tanase and Byron are also doing this for Charlie. They want to set an example for Tanase’s son and encourage him to say yes to life’s opportunities, to explore the world, and to challenge himself. They also want to be a positive representation for their minority communities.
