With yesterday’s miracle news that South Australia would be opening its borders up to travellers from NSW, it was only a matter of time before one of Australia’s airlines announced an epic deal on flights between the states. Now, our prayers have been answers. Thank God, or rather, Jetstar.
From right now until midnight on Thursday, 24 September (that’s 36 hours only), you can nab a one-way fare between Sydney and Adelaide for only $59 with Jetstar. Travel dates are valid between October 13 and December 10, 2020.
With only 5,000 fares available at this price, you can pretty much guarantee this deal to run out before the 36 hours is up. Hell, we’re not expecting this one to even make it through the night (read: BOOK IT NOW).
No doubt after so many months of staying inside the state of NSW, Sydneysiders are feeling pretty damn eager for a holiday. Likewise for South Australians, who may be keen to visit a different city outside of their own beautiful borders.
As such, Jetstar has announced it will also be adding more regular flights to its timetables. While previously, only five trips between Sydney and Adelaide were running per week, the budget airline will now be scheduling two a day from October, and three a day in November.
Qantas will also reintroduce a daily service between the two states, as will Virgin Australia. It’s welcome news, just in time for spring getaways, and particularly ahead of the summer months.
“The resumption of Qantas flights from Sydney to Adelaide and additional Jetstar flights on the route will be fantastic for tourism operators and local businesses in both South Australia and New South Wales,” a spokesperson for Qantas said, according to News.com.au.
