Nina From ‘Survivor’ Opens Up About Botched Tribal Council: ‘I Shouldn’t Have Said That’

In last night’s episode of Australian Survivor: Heroes Vs Villains it was US ex-pat Nina Twine who had her torch snuffed after her honest words rubbed George the wrong way.

Speaking to The Latch in an interview, the 25-year-old Florida native opened up about what went down at tribal council and how she feels about the way things played out.

“It’s not fun watching [the episode],” she said. “But I just do my best to remind myself, I did what I thought was best in the moment, because I genuinely based that off of everything that I had seen and heard. I felt I was going home.”

During the tribal council, Nina let her feelings be known and didn’t mince words. Ultimately her actions caused George to flip his vote from Matt to Nina, which was the nail in the coffin for her Survivor journey.

“I shouldn’t have said what I said,” she said. “But at the time, I thought, ‘I’m gonna try it one last time, because I’m going home anyways’”.

Even though she may be rethinking her choice of words, she has no regrets about her time coming to an end.

“I thought it was the best decision for my game. And that’s what I did. And I had a great time doing it,” she said.

Look, we certainly had a great time watching it all play out. Well done, Nina!

And it’s not all bad news. Nina admits there were a couple of major perks to being booted from the game.

“I was super devastated,” she said. “But also thought, ‘Ooh, I might be eating tonight and taking a shower!”

As for her first meal back in the real world? Fish tacos and a salad. Delish and well-earned.
