Here’s a nugget of info that’s likely to stay with you (if you didn’t know it already): many luxury brands completely bin their excess stock. As in, toss it in a landfill. Wild, right? And, obviously, not ideal for the planet.
On The List is aiming to change that by turning past-season inventory into sustainable opportunities via premium flash sales. They’ve worked with over 500 of the world’s leading luxury brands and distributors to create unmatched deals across fashion, beauty and lifestyle. Think up to 90% off Balenciaga, Burberry, Jimmy Choo, Montblanc, Longchamp and Le Creuset. So, step aside, Aldi, we now know where we’ll be getting our bargain cast iron cookware.
The platform had huge success in Hong Kong with over 500,000 members, and this month, launched in Australia. It’s carbon-neutral here, meaning it compensates for its carbon emissions with carbon offsetting projects, and, for its launch sales, it’ll donate $2 from every purchase made to OzHarvest. Which equates to four meals for people in need.
“Australia has always been on the top of our list when considering the expansion of our business,” says founder Diego Dultzin Lacoste.
“We have always admired the stylish, sophisticated, and effortless style of Australians and their love of quality brands. Over the last five years, we have noticed a strong focus on sustainability and social conciseness, especially in the Australian market.”
So, how does it work? Well, you can check out all the On The List sales here (at the time of writing this, there’s a sale on for Le Creuset and next up is a beauty sale). Or you can sign up here to get notified of them. Remember that when you spy one you want, you’ll want to act fast as not only is there limited stock, but also the sales are only last 48 hours to six days.
