Post Malone is “always tired” so “stay away” — well that’s what his face tattoos say and his multitudes of other tatts? They all have a very significant meaning.
In a new interview with GQ, the 24-year-old has opened up about his bevvy of ink — and it proves that even Post Malone is not immune to self-esteem struggles.
“I’m a ugly-ass motherf- -ker,” Malone told the outlet in his style cover story.
“[The face tattoos do] maybe come from a place of insecurity, to where I don’t like how I look, so I’m going to put something cool on there so I can look at myself and say, ‘You look cool, kid,’ and have a modicum of self-confidence when it comes to my appearance.”
As well as the wording ink, the Circles singer has a knife near his right ear, playing cards and barbed wire along his hairline, tree branches on his temple, a heart, a smiley face and a playboy bunny — and this is just on his face.
In an interview with NME in July 2018, the Texan performer went into further detail about the ink, saying that he “had a face for radio”.
“I tried to do something that’s relatively the same length of letters,” Malone said after he got “always tired” printed under his eyes.
“I guess ‘always’ is more letters than ‘tired,’ but I was tired so I didn’t realise,” before later adding: “Anything to piss my mum off. It’s not right. I got a face for radio anyways, so why not?”
During his cover interview with GQ, the Sunflower singer/rapper openly spoke out about mental health, specifically Mac Miller, Lil Peep and Juice WRLD — and referenced his own struggles.
“Middle school, I would cry myself to sleep every f—kin’ day,” he told the outlet.
“High school, the same thing. I tried to drink some beers to get rid of that s—t, but it just never goes away. And I don’t think that’s anybody’s fault; it has to do with something predisposed in you.”
