After months of waiting, Sammy Junior is finally here. Opening on the ground level of 66 King Street in the CBD, the espresso bar caters to the morning trade, offering a bespoke Sammy Junior Spiritual Coffee blend created by Spiritual Coffee founder and coffee connoisseur Martin Hudak.

The house-blend of Brazilian, Columbian, and Ethiopian beans have been hand-selected and hand-roasted by Martin and sits alongside a seasonal bean selection. There are also small-batch specialty teas from Ms Cattea, chai from Bespoke Chai, and hot chocolate courtesy of Callebaut. Morning beverages can be enjoyed in-venue and on-the-run from the York Street-facing takeaway coffee nook.

Grab breakfast on the go or dine-in with a short selection of classic breakfast bites from consultant, Chef Rob Lechowicz, including strawberry chia pudding, toasted banana bread with ricotta, honey, and cinnamon, and a daily pastry selection from Sonoma Bakery.

Take a long work lunch and enjoy Rob’s menu of sandwiches and salads. The menu includes Chicken P.L.A.T, Asian Chop Bowl, and a Tomato & Basil Panini.

There are also $2 Sydney Rock oysters available from 3 pm every Thursday and Friday plus aperitivo plates of olives, salumi and cheese from 3 pm daily for when you need to step away from the desk.

What you really want to take advantage of, however, is the opportunity to have a mini tipple with your lunch. There are just six cocktails available at Sammy Junior and they are exclusively served as minis. At just 100mL and $13 each, they are a delightful accompaniment to your lunch or a cheeky compliment to your afternoon office pow-wow.

Four of the six cocktails are on tap—Coffee Negroni, Martini Australiano, Cascara Fizz and TI Punch Spritz— while the Espresso Martini is made as a frappĂ© and the sixth, Irish Coffee, is made to serve.

Also on tap is a bespoke Sammy Junior craft beer from Nomad Brewing, Morning Draught ($6), and a rotating selection of wines. The tap system is courtesy of ecoSPIRITS and plays an important role in minimising packaging plus it reduces the carbon footprint of spirits consumption by up to 80%.

In keeping with the mini-theme, you will only find half bottles of wine at Sammy Junior. The predominantly European selection includes a handful of Champagne, white and red and bundles up nostalgic favourites with new-world fun.

Sammy Junior will also have a retail offering including their house-blend of coffee beans, T-shirts, cocktail glasses, their recently launched Maybe Sammy bottled cocktail collection and Sammy Junior takeaway cups.

The venue will be walk-in only, so what are you waiting for?
