It’s time to recycle your dusty, sparse and quite frankly, sad, fake Christmas tree, and opt for the more traditional pine tree instead.
While real Christmas trees have their downfalls (ie. dropping pine needles and back pain from lugging them into your home), the newest tree on the block promises none of these concerns.
Following a sell-out year in 2019, Australian plant e-retailer, Floraly, is giving the gift of a living mini Christmas tree in an eco-friendly move that would make Buddy the Elf proud.
Based in Redfern, Sydney, the eco-friendly florists will deliver a mini tree complete with decorations like fairy lights, red baubles, a festive pot, and a festive topper to be applied in any style of your choosing.
The best bit? Delivery is free to areas of Sydney, Wollongong, Central Coast, Brisbane and Melbourne.
The trees — all of which have been sourced locally from Victoria and NSW — are the perfect size for apartment dwellers at just under 60cm tall, though with the addition of soil and a care kit included in the delivery parcel, the tree can be kept alive year-round and will continue to grow with each Christmas that passes.
With the roots still attached to the tree, you can choose to plant your mini pine in the garden post-December, or seek out a bigger pot to be kept close by for next year.
You can score your own mini Christmas tree now for just $79. If you like, you can even add on extras, like a bottle of Moët & Chandon French Champagne and chocolates, Messina spreads, or Endota Spa products at an extra cost.
The team behind Floraly pride themselves on creating an eco-friendly and sustainable alternative to other online florists. “We believe in supporting our environment, both inside and outside of your home.
“We do this through donations to environmental charities, offsetting our carbon emissions, minimising waste and supporting local flowers growers,” the site’s About section reads.
