Well, folks, The Bachelors‘ summer of love is finally here, and this season, things are going to be different.
Past seasons of The Bachelor Australia have featured helicopter dates over Sydney’s picturesque harbours, where our Bachelor would woo his date for the day. Then, they’d head back to the candle-lit mansion dripping in fairy lights for an elaborate Rose Ceremony, where each week, he’d whittle down the women vying for his affection one by one.
This season, all of that is changing.
First, and perhaps most importantly, there are three Bachelors — Jed McIntosh, Felix Von Hofe, and Thomas Malucelli — looking for love this year, and if the promos are anything to go by, at least one of them will pop the question by the end of the series.
Secondly, the show has relocated to Queensland’s sunny Gold Coast. The girls are residing in a waterfront mansion, but there’s not a twinkle light or candle in sight, promising a sleeker, more modern version of The Bachelors than we’ve seen in past seasons.
Finally, the promos show a more dynamic, less linear path to love, for both our Bachelors and the girls in the mansion. As we’ve seen, there are girls who reject our Bachies, and some who may be keen to switch Bachelors along the way.
All in all, it’s set to be an exciting season, and with the first promos introducing the women vying for our Bachelors’ hearts dropping, it’s time to get to know them.
One of the women vying for Felix’s heart on The Bachelors Australia this year is 25-year-old Emma, from Victoria.

“I applied to be on The Bachelor[s] to meet someone who isn’t afraid of commitment,” Emma said in a press statement. “My past dating experiences have led to a lot of disappointment, and although they make for good stories, I’m at a position in my life where I want something genuine and real.”
Looking to the long-lasting, successful relationships that The Bachelor Australia has produced in the past, Emma said that she’s now hoping the show can bring her the same kind of happily ever after.
With a passion for travel, Emma has spent time working at summer camps overseas in the past, but now, she’s ready for a new kind of adventure that’s closer to home, and closer to her heart.
Although applying for a reality television dating show is way out of Emma’s comfort zone, she’s open to finding love in front of the nation — she’s just hoping that Felix will be the man to reciprocate all the love she has to give.
In the past, Emma said that she’s been in love once before, but it wasn’t meant to be.
“Unfortunately, I wasn’t in love with the right person,” she explained, “but it was an important lesson to realise what I deserve and want in future relationships.”
Now, Emma knows that she has a lot to offer in a relationship, she just needs to find the right person.
“My loyal nature means I can give someone the commitment they deserve and make them feel respected in a relationship,” she said. “I’m quite a fun, spontaneous person so I can guarantee we will always be having a laugh.”
Emma said that she’s at her happiest when she’s surrounded by friends and family — the people who she can truly be herself around. Will Felix find himself fitting into that equation in the future? Only time will tell. Until then…
The Bachelors Australia premieres on January 9, only on 10 and 10 Play on Demand.
