Season Two of The Boys only just launched on Amazon Prime, but there’s already word of a spin-off.
With news that a third season is on the way, and the season finale set for October 9, this news couldn’t come soon enough.
According to Variety, the spinoff will be set at America’s only college exclusively for young adult ‘Supes’ (superheroes) that are run by Vought International.
The show explores the lives of the young adult Supes with raging hormones, competitiveness and who put their “physical, sexual and moral boundaries to the test” while competing for the best contracts in the best cities.
Described as part-college, part-Hunger Games — it’s an origins story that fits in with the essence of The Boys.
The second season of The Boys has proven popular and centres around Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), Frenchie (Tomer Capon) and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) who are still in hiding and trying to adjust to a new normal, with Butcher (Karl Urban) nowhere to be found.
Meanwhile, Starlight (Erin Moriarty) must navigate her place in The Seven as Homelander (Antony Starr) sets his sights on taking complete control. His power is threatened with the addition of Stormfront (Aya Cash), a social-media-savvy new Supe, who has an agenda of her own. On top of that, the Supervillain threat takes centre stage and makes waves as Vought seeks to capitalise on the nation’s paranoia.
The Supes of The Seven also includes Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott), A-Train (Jessie T. Usher), The Deep (Chace Crawford) and Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell).
