One perk of not being the first country in line for many product and collection launches is that we can see how they’re received elsewhere and then plan accordingly. For instance, if a product or collection sells out in the US or Europe, we’ll know it’s likely to do the same here in Australia, and that we’ll need to act fast if we want to buy it.
Which is the exact case with Uniqlo’s latest upcoming UT Collection, Jujutsu Kaisen. Set to launch in Australia on Monday, October 4, the shirts featuring characters from the wildly popular Japanese anime series that quickly sold out in the US.
“The new collection features exclusive designs from illustrations in the manga [anime] that highlight the magical powers of the sorcerers whose personalities have made the series so attractive,” reads a release.
“A second UT selection with exclusive designs from the anime television series will follow at a later date to please all fans of the Jujutsu Kaisen franchise.”
Design details sure to delight fans include a pattern of Sukuna on the back of a UT whose front features Yuji Itadori, the main character. Also portrayed in the collection are the Hollow Purple technique of sorcerer and teacher Satoru Gojo and a design showing Shikgami curses that sorcerer Megumi Fushiguro summons.
Past limited-time, special UT collections have featured Pokemon, Demon Slayer and Billie Eilish. One of the most popular manga series in Japan today, Jujutsu Kaisen follows Jujutsen sorcerers who have magical powers.
The collection comprises seven adult-sized shirts and four kids’ designs. It’ll be available in Uniqlo Australia stores and online at uniqlo.com/au.
