Rihanna Is Simply “Refusing” To Rih-lease Her Album

By now, we know Rihanna, and we love Rihanna. These are facts. Another fact? We’re UPSET WITH RIHANNA for continuing to troll us, her beloved fans, as we patiently wait for her ninth album to drop.

After spending 2019 continuing to work on Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty, releasing a coffee table book and launching her high fashion line FENTY, Rihanna decided to take some time out of her busy schedule to check back in and remind us that she’s still a singer.

Posting a video of a dog bopping along to “Jump Around” by House of Pain, Rih captioned the video: “Update: me listening to R9 by myself and refusing to release it”.

Honestly, our feelings are best summed up by this now-iconic 2014 tweet:

The audacity, indeed.

It should be noted that this is not the first time Rihanna has trolled us all over the #R9 release, she also posted this meme last October:

Replying to a fan who asked, “where is the m.u.s.i.c. ???” on Instagram, Rihanna said: “I know I know sis. I’m doing music. Simultaneously doing lingerie, makeup, film, amongst a couple other things that I enjoy. when the music is ready, you won’t have to ask for it. But it’s coming. Just not today sis. I’m hype too tho, it can’t come soon enough for me.”

Of course, it’s all in good fun, and Rih has taken to responding “who sent you?!” to reporters who ask where the album is:

For what it’s worth (absolutely nothing) Rihanna had said on Instagram that the album would be released in 2019, which is not quite over yet! Don’t mind us, we’ll just be clinging to our final hopes for a new RiRi album over the next week.
