Not since The Bachelorette’s Todd King as a knight in shining armour during Ali Oetjen’s season, has anyone turned up in a costume as bold as Rosemary Sawtell.
Arriving on the red carpet, the 23-year-old Retail Manager from QLD was determined to stand out in her own version of a penguin suit.
“I see you got the penguin suit memo!” she quipped and ten points for Gryffindor!
Our Bachelor, Locky Gilbert, did not seem to run, as some might do if they saw her out and about, instead the ice was broken and his interest was piqued.
“Rosemary coming in a penguin suit, she’s courageous enough to take risks,” Gilbert said. “I absolutely love that.”
But don’t be fooled, she’s “not just a penguin, she’s a person too.” Sawtell has a few tricks under her wing and even has an Instagram full of very “un-Sawtell-in-a-penguin-suit” photos.
It looks like she loves to play around with her look, often trialling different hair and makeup, also changing her style. This penguin certainly knows her camera angles!

A “self-confessed penguin enthusiast” (well, dah!), her social page would not be accurate, if it was free from her favourite bird. She even spent her 21st birthday getting to feed them at Sea World on the Gold Coast.

Sawtell looks like a lot of fun, so we’re thinking Gilbert has a tough decision to make.
